DDM 35W 5000K Raptor HID yay!

I installed my DDM 35W 5000K HID kit 2 weeks ago and didn't post anything here haha so I'll post it incase anyone wants to see what it looks like

It looks like there's glare in the pic but its just my blackberry being all weird

Its not the best pic but what it looks like from inside.

So far so good. The color is very white with a light hint of blue. If I had to do it again, I'd probably just order 4300K since I want the most usable light. I mounted the ballasts right by the fender by the strut towers. Fits in there real nicely.

Edit.

Maybe I spoke too soon. Got into my car after work and only one side lit up. Got out checked all connections but nothing. Drove for a bit then turned it on just to see and they both light up. Could this be the sign of a bad ballast?

not sure about your ballast issues, but did you go with the slim or regular ballasts? i got the regular for my lows and slim for my fogs, but i'm thinking maybe i should have just gotten 2 slims...

I got the regular raptors. they're bigger than slims but there's plenty of space under the hood for the ballasts so didn't see a reason to spend extra money for the slims.

why do you think you should've gotten 2 slims instead?

Easier to mount, and I believe the slims are painted black (instead of the standard silver/chrome of the regulars). I've had the light sitting on a shelf since Christmas. Haven't gotten off my ass to install them yet. :[

haha since Christmas?! dang haha I installed mine in the dark as soon as I got them haha

it's painted black but who's gonna see it? haha and the fender has a perfect place for the ballast. the regular ones fit there just fine with room to spare. I'll post of pic of where i'm talking about haha

Pics would be nice. even if I'm sure they are already on this forum somewhere. Yeah, between school and work, I keep forgetting about them, and then when I think about them I just don't have the time.

Sure I'll take one during lunch..if I remember haha

They don't take long to install. The hardest part was getting the bulb in. For some reason, it wouldn't screw in..the gasket on the bulb was a bit thick on mine.. after a few tries it went in but yea...I would say 15min max. just make sure you test the bulbs before you install anything.

Also, pick up some outdoor use 3M double sided tape from home depot or w/e thats what I used to stick it by the fender and it hasn't budged haha

Re: DDM 35W 5000K Raptor HID yay!

so I bought my friends spare DDM HID harness in hopes that it will fix the problem with just one side firing.. well it didnt work quite the way i was hoping it would.

The plug from the harness which is suppose to plug into the stock plug doesnt seem to go in deep enough to allow the spades to connect correctly. So if I turn my lights on, nothing happens since there isn't a good connection. Here is a pic of the plug from the harness (left) and HID bulb (right)

btw.. white wire is negative and blue is positive right? the harness plug has blue and white wires instead of red and black. and also, the part with the fuse is suppose to connect to the positive battery terminal right? mine didnt have the heat shink on the ends to indicate which wire went to which terminal of the battery.
