Hid conversion questions

Im doing up a wishlist of parts I want to buy for this summer, and I have some HID questions. I have a 2010 mazda 3 gs. Now, what bulbs do I need? Are they the H1? Also, do I need any additional harnesses When I purchase the bulbs and ballasts? Also, I have been looking around at SharpHID at the DDM slim kit, also ultrafire slim kits on xenon expert, what is the better company to go with?

Re: Hid conversion questions

hey buddy well i just purchased ddm slim kit 6000k 35w and i think they are ok. as far as i know you would need h11 bulb. the kit is easy to install its plug and play. if you wish to see the color look at my post earlier today i have a pivture there. as far as quality i just got them and i have no problems. 6000k is a nice white but i want them whiter. the higher temp you go meaning k. the less light output you get. stick with 5 to 6 k or 8k max. anything higher is only for looks. good luck

Re: Hid conversion questions

really howcome you dont like the 6000k look? I was actually thinking of switching and going with 6000k haha. I am just making up a list and ordering parts but dont plan to install anything until spring so dont hold out on me for pictures, search the site though there is an HID thread which is sure to have some 5000k install pictures

Re: Hid conversion questions

hey buddy well hey i did some research and i got some news for you. the issue with ddm 6k is that when you look at them side view they arnt as bring as you would want but they light up the road nice. the cut off isnt great but for 35 bucks its worth it meanwhile. well the best thing i suggest which is what m doing soon is save up some money and get some morimoto HID KIT. and some clear lenses for your ms3. it looks awesome. makes my lights look like halogens.check it out
morimoto.com
its a bit pricey like 200 but worth it.

Re: Hid conversion questions

I have a few questions too.

I've been eying this DDM kit for a while http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/Ap...Raptor-HID-Kit

What exactly do I need to get?

I've done a ton of searching and, from what I can gather, all I need to do is to make sure I get size H11 bulbs with my preference of wattage and bulb color.

But what about the other drop boxes? Is there anything else I need with the kit? The HID Harness, Error Code Eliminator, Adapter Cables, and Mounting Bracket drop-boxes are all set blank.

Also 4500k is the whitest correct? I don't want them to look blue at all.

Thanks

Re: Hid conversion questions

I think thats the same kit i'm going to get too, the Apexcone RaptorV2's. 4500k is whitest and best light output, (4300k is usually what comes on factory cars). I would say the only additional piece to consider would be the harness but I am unsure if we need it for our cars or not, some run with it and have no issues, some don't run with it and still have no issues, but im thinking for 12 bucks and an extra $2 in shipping its probably worth it in the event that you do need it, because if you dont buy it with your HID kit, then do the swap and find out you DO need it, its going to be about an additional $30 in shipping (for me anyway) so I think i might just buy it to be on the safe side.
