HID Confusion EXPERTS NEEDED

i have 35w ddm 6000k on my mazda 3. issue is when i first put them on they didnt seem like that 6000k white but i managed to forget. i then proceeded to install LED parking lights and now they have made my HID look even less white. they arent the same bright as the LED. my question is does the ballst or the bulb matter on the brightness of the light. like is 6000k xenon lights have a better color than the 6000k ddm.? do the ballast matter/ or should i just change the bulb to a better hid bulb and keep the ddm ballast(slim)? or should i just get a new hid kit? and which one? PLEASE HELP? MY CAR IS LOOKING LIKE A HOT MESS!!!!!!

Re: HID Confusion EXPERTS NEEDED

The lamp itself is the difference, not the ballast.

Incidentally which direction on the spectrum are they not looking "white". Are they too yellow or too blue? Actual white light should be 4,300k. Anything above that moves towards the blue/purple end of the spectrum.

Re: HID Confusion EXPERTS NEEDED

It's a little difficult to make a determination via pictures due to changes in the white balance of your camera and my monitor. To me it looks like the LEDs are a little bluer than your HIDs. It's not uncommon for "white" LEDs to look bluish as they tend towards that end of the white spectrum. If that is the case then you'd really need to go up in kelvin rating with your HIDs to perhaps a 8,000k.

How does the color difference look to everyone else...... does the LED look more blue?

Now that said I really don't recommend that. The higher the kelvin rating the less actual usable light you're projecting on the road. Also the more blue the light is the more quickly it contributes to eye fatigue. I'd be more interested in going with a 4,300k lamp and add a clear lens w/ spacing to give it that bluish flicker more than to match the actual color of the light that two separate light systems are emitting. Then again I run around with non-matched halogen fogs and high beams to my HID low beams.
