Fog lights

Hey guys I'm trying to change my fog lights to HID's but my manual says the bulb can't be replaced. Has anyone changed these? They look like they just pop out.
Thanks!

Re: Fog lights

Yes, very easy to change. Twist and pull and it comes out of the fog light housing very easily.

You need to buy a HID kit, 9006 is the bulb size (also, 35W is more than enough). Although generally it isn't recommended that one goes to HID with the fogs because we have a reflector housing you can still physically do it and the glare is very minimal IMO.

Re: Fog lights

Also a note, it's not a totally simple swap from halogen to HID. Once you remove the stock fog light you'll have to connect wires and mount the HID ballast. Connecting is pretty straight forward though. And mounting the ballast with zip ties and double sided tape is the harder part IMO. At first I installed without removing the bumper but the second time I went in it was easier to get a better/more secure spot to mount when removing the bumper.

Re: Fog lights

2010 and 2011 gx,gs,gt are 9006 bulbs as they have the square fogs and the 2010, 2011 speed 3s have h11 fogs as they have the exac same fogs as the 04to 06 gt's.

Re: Fog lights

Does anyone know if any LED unit can adequately replace the fogs from a 2010 3 GT? I've seen it done on one car on the forum but no mention to the actual light output of them. HID's seem like a bit more work; are they the only way brighter?

Re: Fog lights

Thanks for the help thy fit! and the HIDs are way brighter and I think they look better because of the color. I just have 8kHID fogs in right now andnot the headlights yet and I disconnected the headlights because the HIDs were that much better
