Re: Blinking HID's with steering wheel

its probably b/c of the electric power steering. i know my halogens used to dim whenever i was at slow/no speed and turned the steering wheel. its the combined effect of your alt not producing enough juice and the steering needing more assist. i haven't noticed it yet with my new HIDs though

Never seen it and I have the same car as you. I'd let the dealer know about it.

Re: Blinking HID's with steering wheel

Did you try it? You probably wont notice it unless your paying attention or looking for it. Its really not like "flickering" either. Its more of like a pinkish flash. You kinda need to be like infront of a wall to if you can be... PLEASE let me know if you tried or are going to. IT DRIVES ME NUTS!!!

Re: Blinking HID's with steering wheel

I'll keep an eye out, but I'm pretty sensitive to things like this. The reason I say to just take it in for service is that the ballasts in an HID system would smooth out the voltage fluctuations you get from load on the system. If you do have a ground fault in your HID ballast or something like that, you're playing with fire driving the car at night without having the problem resolved. Since you said that it happens when the car is parked, I'm assuming that it's not the normal movement of the AFS motors that you see when you start the car and when you are going around turns. Maybe that is what you're seeing... I don't know.

I just kinda noticed that the car has to be kinda warmed up too. It really wont do it untill its been driven...I think it has to do with the battery ? ? ?
