Need advice REALLY quick!

Ok. So I had my muffler and second resonator removed. Now, If I removed the cat from the race pipe section and the first resonator on the catback, would it make that much for of a difference in sound/performance? I need advice quick because I might go to the shop in the next hour or so! Please help!

-Chris

Re: Need advice REALLY quick!

The MS CBE only has a single small muffler. I also have the XS pipe and the sound is just where I like it. I'm not sure how it would be straight from the DP. Might drone.

Re: Need advice REALLY quick!

Nah, I wanna replace the cat in the stock "race pipe" with a straight pipe...and remove the first resonator in the cat back. So I will only have 1 cat in the DP correct?

Re: Need advice REALLY quick!

Yes, one in the DP. But straight the rest of the way back can introduce harmonics.

Re: Need advice REALLY quick!

Will it be a low rumble sound? Would it drone really bad if I did this? I mean really bad drone! Because I had a 06 mx5 with a full catback and that thing dronned like a bitch!

Re: Need advice REALLY quick!

Hard to say without actually hearing it, start with the resonator and take a listen then go for the cat. Make sure you drive it, I'm sure you've noticed that it sounds a lot different under load.

Yeah, it sounds a bit different underload. Cruising, sounds stock..but when you get on it, it has almost a tornado like sound rushing through to the back of the car! Sound sweet!
