New Mazda3 buyer

Ok heres my situation. I fell in love with the Mazda3 when lookin for cars online. I just graduated college and got a decent job and can finally afford car payments and want to treat myself to a new car.

Herer are my basic goals in this purchase:

1) Has to be AUTOMATIC (4 speed vs 5 speed, not sure... can someone enlighten me)
2) Has to have a MOON ROOF
3) Has to be one of three colors (Black Mica, Titanium Grey, or Winnig Blue)

4) Heres the dilemma... I kind of want it to have leather interior as well but that is not a necessity.

I want to spend at MOST $21000 all together (+tax/interest at end of loan) and only have $350/month payments on the car with a 60 month loan.

What are my options in terms of can i afford an S or can I only go with the I.

Re: New Mazda3 buyer

if youre gonna go sedan get the S for sure. An S sedan with the 5-speed automatic, front and side airbags, moonroof/6cd is around $19500 MSRP. This still gives you room for some other toys since noone really pays MSRP. Also, if you have to have a moonroof, your only cheaper option is the i-touring (smaller 2.0 L engine) with a 4-speed auto, same options, for about $18750 MSRP. Hope this helps

Re: New Mazda3 buyer

You may have done so already, but try and see some of the cars in 'person' before picking a color. I liked the Ti gray the most from the mazda website, then when I went to the dealer and actually saw one, I didn't like it as much. The blue cars aren't done justice from the photos either.

Moonroof is a pretty common option on the S models (I was told), and automatic is apparently the most popular transmission option for the US, so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding the car you want.
