Sedan to Hatchback conversion

This one is for the Mazda Gurus....

Just out of curiosity, if I want to convert my Sedan front end to a hatchback front end, what is involved in doing that? Is it just the body panels, grill bumper and hood or will I have to go deeper? Do both cars have to same mounting points on the front end?

Re: Sedan to Hatchback conversion

the body lines dont cary from the fenders to the doors the same in the sedan and hatch, mazda designers went far enough to make every panel on the sedan and hatch different.

Re: Sedan to Hatchback conversion

you might be able to do a front door swap and with a lot of body work make it look decent.

OMG IS Got1 YELLING OR SOMETHING WTF LOL ROFLAO!!1111eleven

I always yell text in my head when it's all caps like that. Not so much like someone is angry but just with Huntington's disease or something.

Anyways, yeah, the frame is supposed to be the same. The specs on the mazda site lead me to think this. Although i really dont know and im just talking out of my arse on an internet forum. <leaves room, sulking head>

No really, i dont know. But this is an interesting thread. Im surprised it didnt come up before.
