Finally got some new shoes, and speedo is magically 99.9% accurate

Ive been stuck on 15' steelies with 195-65-15's since I got the car, and one thing that I noticed was that the speedo was off slighty

I just got my new wheels, gunmetal drag dr-33's with 225-45-17 tires

The speedo is amazingly accurate now, so I assume my car was shipped to the dealer with larger rims and they were switched out maybe

Also, one question I have, The pic of the wheel close up, is that wheel supposed to be on the right side of the car, I just noticed the tread looks like it might be meant for the other side

it depends on if it's a directional tire. if it was, there should be an arrow indicating the correct direction.
some tires are like that (pattern that looks backwards on one side of the car)

Not shipped to the dealer with larger, it came like that from the factory, they never calibrated it for 15s, they must have calibrated it for 17s

Makes sense, but you would have thought they'd make provisions for the base models with steelies seeing as they sell alot of them and at times my speedo was ~4 mph off

the stock 15" tire size is almost identical in diameter as the stock 17" tire size
the difference between 195/65R15, 205/55R16 and 205/50R17 is only 60mph/60.2/59.7mph

The biggest thing you have to look at is the rated revs/mile for your tires. You can have two identically sized tires from different brands that have 1% or more difference in revs/mile rating.
