Short throw shifters for 1st Gen?

Hey all hows it going? Ive been looking into getting some solid shifter bushings and thought might as well get a short throw shifter too.

Problem is, I cant find any haha. It seems people only make short shift plates for the 1st gen's now. I think I'm a little late too cause it seems all the short throw shifters for the gen 1's have been discontinued. The only ones I can find are some cheap ones off ebay that I don't really want to try. Am I out of luck now?

Thanks a bunch, cheers!

There is a short throw plate that Corksport sells that adapts existing linkage. I have installed it, but haven't driven it yet (project, still on jackstands), but it seems to shift and work fine so far. Wasn't too difficult to do, more difficult removing stuff to get to the linkages. I have also bought the aluminum shifter bushing set from Corksport. Have not installed yet.

Just got the car down off jackstands and running the local twisties. The short throw is working very nicely. It snaps into gear like it should and I can notice it shortens the throw. I plan on putting the aluminum bushing set in soon.

I picked up one of the "cheap ones", what makes the "cheap" it theyre 3 pieces and used setscrews to hold the pieces together.... I took the setscrews out cleaned them and the threads and used red loctite with a high dollar allen wrench so I can tighten them down nice and tight without stripping the screws... they come with the bushings and there is a little difference as throws are a little shorter. (coincidentally I have a spare one I can sell you for less than ebay.... the company I ordered mine from sent me 2 by mistake)

BUT I do also want to get the corksport brackets too.... thought the two together would be a nice combo.

Also Corksport makes a STS for the 1st gen MS3 and since they used the same parts when it comes to that, it should work just as well in the non-speed versions

weird thing is people say how crappy the "cheap" one is cause its 3 pieces........ and yet so is the CorkSport version.... and is 150 more expensive.... not sure I'll pull the trigger on that one for that price.

No siggy needed.

Corksport - email them and see if they still have them.

Tried, unfortunately they're long gone. I'm considering just replacing the shifter bushings at this point or trying a cheap eBay short shifter since they come with the bushings anyways. Idk
