When nose of car points downward on a tiny slant car won't start!?

My 2006 3 starts just fine except when the nose is pointing downward on a very small slant. I thought the battery instantly died or something (I had started it just fine this morning though) because it wouldn't start, that was until I pushed the gas pedal quite a bit, then it kicked in and started up.

I parked it back on its usual driveway slant (nose pointing upwards) and it started up just fine 3x in a row.

Can anybody help this girl out before I possibly get taken at a dealership to get it fixed? Your help is so appreciated!

Edited to add: really black smoke came out when it did finally start, if that's an indicator of something.

Gas tank is filled almost all the way full.

Yeah, ok, this forum USED to rule :P

And that picture is obviously shopped because the liquid coming out is clear. Nice try though. Sorry you have such disdain for women!

Calm down were just kidding. You should see what happens in other threads. Alot worse.

Here's an example.

1st of all did you put your parking brake and have it rest on the parking brake instead of the parking pawl? This can jam up the tranny preventing it from turning. I've seen it happen alot because people dont know or think the parking brake is for parking unless they've driven a stick before. The parking brake is important period. Your transmission isn't meant to support the weight of the vehicle in park. If you set your parking brake (release your normal brakes and let it "fall back" on the parking brake and THEN set it in park) ignore this and you deserve an award for doing what 90% of the populous fails to do.

2nd, If you're almost empty sometimes depending the location of the fuel siphon you can end up cavitating the pump running it dry. I'm unsure of the location on the Mazda, but if its anything like on my other vehicles the siphon is located toward the front of the tank.. and i would think this wouldn't be an issue. It can also happen if you're low on fuel and stop suddenly or accelerate suddenly.

3rd, If the pump cavitated the fumes from the fuel combined with the actual fuel spray can contribute to a hyper rich mixture preventing ignition and upon actual ignition produce a rich black "Smoke" cloud once started. If its continuously smoking black (not blue) continuously you've got a rich running issue which can prevent it from starting and should have it checked out.

No.
