Re: Please advise! Picking up car today; concerns/questions
Read over the paperwork carefully, and don't be afraid to ask questions until you understand 100% of what's on the purchase and financing agreement. Until you sign the paperwork, you are completely free to walk away from the deal, and the dealer has to give you back your deposit if you ask for it.
If you agreed to X payment per month, and the paperwork shows Y payment instead, push back to at least understand what had changed. You may also want to check with your bank as to what its current rates are on auto loans; you may be able to get a better deal financing through the bank than the dealer. (Many dealers don't offer the best interest rate, as they pad it a little bit to make extra money.)
I know you're worried about the whole car situation, but don't get overly emotional about it -- cover your ass and don't let yourself get sucked into a bad deal.
