All that I've seen is from Autoblog...
Thank you! But... Believe it or not I'm actually looking for info on the changes for the standard 2007 3. I've decided against the Mazdaspeed version because I think the gas mileage is going to be lousy, and I don't want to be a slave to premium fuel.

But man, there are all of these rumored changes for the regular 07 model, I'm wondering if this info is out yet? I thought the official changes for North America were due out today.

On an unrelated note, why are the mods constantly moving threads? What the hell is supposed to go in the general forum? Everytime I post something there it gets moved. What is considered appropriate for that forum? And I thought I was anal retentive.

The NY Auto Show starts  today (open to the press and industry only), but doesn't open to public until a "sneak peak" tomorrow. On top of all that the "officual" opening day is Saturday the 15th. Unless some member of this forum works for a Mazda dealership and is attending the show, nobody will be able to get any details until tomorrow at the earliest.  :p
Well damn man, thanks for setting me straight on that. Opps, and I had been telling people here to check back today for official info on the North American 2007 3. Man, I screwed up.

Hey, while we're wildly speculating.. anyone have any idea when '07 vehicles will hit dealer lots? When did '06 cars hit the lots last year?

Well that is interesting. No 6 speed manual available like some were hoping, and the power on the 2.3 went DOWN to 156hp (151 in PZEV states)...that is very odd. That fact, and I am not crazy about the styling changes, make me glad I am getting an 06 hatch tomorrow.

I don't think that the engine was detuned at all. As noted in the press release, power ratings were revised to adhere to the current SAE standard. In other words, the current model of Mazda3 probably makes as much power as the 07 models will.

I don't feel so bad about my 06 now though, assuming that there are no Canadian surprises. The only thing that I miss is the side curtain airbags, unfortunately. As for the interior trim - yay for fake wood! I guess fake CF wasn't good enough.

That's somewhat disappointing, 156hp is pretty skimpy, I was hoping for a performance boost with the refresh, not to find out the engine was over-rated before.  As far as the GT sedan model is concerned, doesnt look like anything's changing, except for LED rear lights, and the option for DSC and trac control. Even the Euro version gets the 6 speed. Good or bad at least thats a change. Plus the warranty is shrinking for 07, I wonder if there will be any more changes or else I'd probably expect the price to decrease for the GT trim at least. :?

Hmmmm, I'm underwhelmed.  :?

Less HP, torque is the same, no 6 speed, shorter warranty, worse looking front end IMHO.

Guess I gotta find an '06 quick!

I just hope that I'll be able to swap over the '07 head unit with the aux audio input (one good addition!) and maybe LED tails.

Anybody else dissapointed? :|  (planetx this is your cue ;) )

Totally!

While I think eneg and HeaTransfer have it right, the power is probably exactly the same, just measured differently. Although in the end I could care less, either engine has more than enough power for me. I'll end up w/ a 2.3L just because I want the hatch and other premo options.

The big disapointment to me is the 6-speed. I can't even really say why, 5 is probably enough, but I really had my heart set on a 6-speed trans.

The kicker is that my handy dealer search previously turned up 3 '06 GT's in the area that met my criteria.. This AM I rechecked and that number is down to 1.. and I don't really like the color! Not that I'm in any position to move quickly anyhow..

Eh, maybe a cherry '06 w/ low miles will show up on the used market. Maybe somebody moving up to a MazdaSpeed3..
