Financing and loans?

Is it true that the financing companies and banks will loan to you ONLY if 1/3 of your income can cover your monthly payments?

I know you're staring at that Red X avatar of mine

Financing and loans?

Not in my experience. When I got my Protege, I had $13,000 in credit card debt and I only made $18K, and they gave me a loan for $10,500. But thankfully now, I have about $3000 in credit card debt and I make $30K/yr. :-) yay for me

hmm... maybe it's different in Canada...
I wish that was the case for me... cuz I'm definitely out of running for a Mazda 3 unless they're willing to take me regardless of what I have...

Yeah, monthly. I only want around a $300/mo payment so that means $18,000 w/ 0% interest.
