3i hb 72 hours later

I got my 3i GT hb about 72 hours ago. It replaced a 2013 Ford Fusion SE. A few things immediately come to mind.

All 4 windows should retain power until the door is opened, not just the driver's window.

The doors should automatically lock when the car is put in gear.

The fancy radio should have more storage options for favorites, not just one gigantic pool. The Fusion had 3 sets of 10 stations each.

The fancy radio should display the entire name of the performer and the entire name of the song or programmer, scrolling if necessary, rather than only displaying text on the left half of the screen.

The light in the hatch area should be on a switch so when you open the hatch it turns on and closing the hatch turns it off. It wouldn't be difficult to run the battery down with it like it is.

On the plus side there is the excellent fuel mileage. Then there's the way it barely sips fuel. And there's the fact you almost don't have to buy gasoline for this car.

I'm sure there will be more thoughts over the next few weeks. Overall I'm very very happy with this car. I believe it's definitely a keeper.

I wish they all did as well. On the Gen1s (mine) none of them do. There are some electrical mods that can be done to fix this, but I never bothered.

Disagree - this is the most annoying feature ever and I love that Mazda didn't include it.

Never needed more than 5, so I can't relate but my gf did have a GM that had the same sort of radio that you're talking about. It was handy for storing favorites in multiple cities, but everything else about that radio sucked, I much preferred the Mazda solution. Can't speak for the Gen3s radio though, never tried it.

This feature has been lacking since day 1. I just stopped caring.
If you care a lot, you could look into an aftermarket audio solution as many people do.

It has done that (auto switch off) in every year that I know of. Are you sure you're not doing something wrong?

I'm still reading the manual so that light may switch off and I don't know it. When I got in the back to get something yesterday the light didn't come on. I flipped the switch thinking I'd find three distinct settings for always off, always on and on only with the hatch raised. It felt like it only had two positions.

you can confirm that the light goes off when the hatch is closed by removing the privacy cover beforehand.

True. I was thinking of folding the back seat down and looking through the front window but that's a good idea also.
