i agree. I always loved the 07-09 model year. I drove an 06 mazda3 S as my first mazda. My new one is a 2010 mazda3 S touring with moon and tunes package

Old mazda3 the day i bought it. drove it home with 4 miles on the odometer. Best car ever. Comfortable and fun, only issue was the road noise was a bit loud at times.. However the 2010 mazda3 doesn't seem to have that problem.

This is my new baby. Love it to pieces. Choosing may be hard.. but I guess it really comes down to what the best deal is. Both cars are great fun but I think you could find a car more in your price range with the 07-09 model year.

Honestly, I don't see you getting more than a 2005 (in average condition) for the amount you want to spend. I agree with most here, go with Gen 1 as the grin on the front bumper of the 2010+ is beyond hideous. If you don't believe me, just scroll up and look at that white hatchback. But anyways, I've been looking for another hatchback and they still tend to be on the pricey side if they're in good condition with average miles. A lot will depend on where you live, but here in southern California they go for a premium in very good condition.
