^ wow... that's crazy. I was offered $7500 for my 04 3i and it has a ton of miles AND it's been wrecked. What was wrong with your 05 3s?

Re: High Mileage Thread

And now, the end is near;
And so my Mazda faces the final curtain.
My friends, Ill say it clear,
Ill state my case, of which I'm certain.

Ive driven a car thats full of zoom.
Ive traveled each and every highway;
And more, much more than this,
I drove it my way.

At 92k miles , my Mazda 3s Sedan has had no issues what so ever! Only things replaced were 2 full sets of tires and 4 headlight bulbs ( over 3 1/2 years ).

They quoted me $8k for my trade in (and let me tell you it NEEDS brakes!)

Saturday I will be getting a 2008 Mazda 3 GT Hatchback !!!

2014 3s GT HB @ 36k
2011 6i GT @ 71k
2008.5 3s GT HB @ 89k
2004 3s @ 92k

Re: High Mileage Thread

Reading this thread has made me feel a bit uneasy about buying my 3. The last car I had (Olds Alero) was a piece of junk. So I bought the 3 because I heard that this car does 300,000-400,000kms with not much more than proper maintenance. Right now I'm at 24,800kms, the car is 10 months old and the only thing I've replaced is the tires, which were my fault because I hit a huge pothole and it ripped a hole in the sidewall.

Like I said before... I'm not sure if I want to be a rider. If I ever do decide to do it, I will be starting small! lol

nothing, I mean I spun around through a field going 70 to 0, buttt it did no damage to the car, except for tires, radiator mount, and a bent rim. All of which I replaced. I admit its not the same as it was but I know that cause Ive had the car for so long.

So Im keeping it foreverrrr, I can use it as my "beater" car once I get outa school.

Re: High Mileage Thread

Mine's a 2005 2.3l with just over 64k on it. No issues other than it somehow flooded and wouldn't start for a few days. Burned through those worthless goodyears in 15k, on my third set of tires now, running Faulkens seem like a good tire so far. Currently most of my miles are city and I ave 28-29 mpg, a bad tank is 25. It's very rare it hit 100 miles and am below a 1/4 tank. We have that worthless ethanol blend gas here, so on trips where I can get mid grade with out ethanol in my tank I've seen as high as 36 mpg but usually 32-34.

Reading this thread made me feel a whole lot better about the 3, it's very reliable for most.
Even tho I don't drive a 3 I'm adding in my CX-7, the mazda part's bin wonder. 28K in one year, just a few issues.

Wow, all of a sudden I love my insurance company! I totaled my 05 3i a week and a half ago. Had 81,500 on it, ran like a top, never a problem! Got $12,400 from the insurance company as a payoff!

Re: High Mileage Thread

I just broke 55k on my 06 2.0 i touring. Bought it back in March at 50k, drove it 5k miles so far. My headlight burned out yesterday and paid $40 bucks to fix it, I thought i'd be able to get Sylvana halogens for like $10 bucks and do it myself, but I was on a time constraint and didn't want to mess around with restraining pins and what not. My seatbelt buckle came loose, looks like the bolt is on the edge and ready to fall off. Took it to the dealer today and they'll replace it under warranty, dunno why they need to replace it instead of just tightening the bolt. According to the dealer, it had new brakes, tires put in at 50k when they got it, but the tires really blow, they have 0 grip on wet roads, Infact I slid down a slight incline in Worcester on a rainy day, scared the crap outa me. The 50k on this car is apparently highway miles, and the driver before me never pushed it to hard and performed all routine maintenance. I'm just praying that this car holds out to 200k/250k miles .. or for the next 6/7 Years. I take real good care of it and don't push it hard at all. Seems to accelerate just fine to 40/50 with only a light touch on the gas.

The reason I bought the 3 was due mostly to the experience I had with it's predecessor The Protege. Amazing car, I drove it from 60k miles to 80k miles with no problems other than brake replacement. My dad now puts 60/70 miles on it a day, car runs just fine.

From everything I've read so far, it seems that most of the problems with the 3s have been occurring in the 04, 05 models, guess they were making the switch from the proto to the 3 and they still had kinks to work out...if that makes any sense.

I like my roads the same way I like my women. Nice and Curvy.
