So my warm up cat is on its way out.. hopefully it lasts until Christmas so i dont have to end up paying for a bunch of stuff. I have been looking around at some different options and came across these two products. Yes, i know the difference between the two, and the extra work needed for the OBX flex pipe addition. thats the physical stuff. What will be the difference when it comes to noise/performance between these two. Im just trying to decide which one i want.
You know it's funny that you say that because I just trusted what the shop said. But earlier today I thought... Wait a minute:screwy:?? So now I'm looking into the O2 sensors. I was looking earlier today and I see 4 wire and 5 wire and wideband and all of these different options. If I'm replacing the two sensors that surround the warm up cat, which ones do I need?
1, there is no "warmup cat"
2, the only one that reads the cat is the downstream one (unless you have the Cali PZEV which has 3, in which case the latter 2 downstream)
3, it's been cold recently, if you're get a 0421 code, it's... not really an issue, it's more or less because it's colder than normal.
The 2.3L engine has 2 cats does it not? The one thats Inbetween the manifold and the flex pipe, then the one that's farther down the pipe I thought? Maybe I'm just Blowing smoke here
Correct.. So if my code is showing that the first cat is "inefficient," then are we assuming that the two sensors that come before the cat and after the cat could possibly be going bad?
Haven't really experienced that. She has been FEELING like she was running rough.. Sort of a pulsating feeling in the cabin, but when checking my gauge, I'm only fluctuating 30-50 rpm so It didn't seem that major to me.
