Vendor got back ... There are 2 templates for the dump process 512kb and 1mb ... It turns out the 512kb was the wrong one for my ecu so dumped the 1mb log last night and sent it ... I get the impression that it's an educated guess by the vendor as to which to get/dump ... Maybe for future users it would be worth doing both to save a little time ... Idk ... Anyhow I've updated the setup section and also reformatted it into sections which match the process / stages of the setup process ... Lol not a problem really but the process is now ongoing almost a week

Has to do with which platform your working on; there were a huge number of different variations on the early models depending on where it was, the engine, and even the drive line configuration.

As an example the 1.6 eu cars still use the smaller rom file

Am up and running .. Lots of fancy graphs that look impressive ... Lol don't car about that tbo... Assuming I'm seeing all the tables ; have access to the fueling tables ( target tables really , closed loop = afr open loop = appears to be ratio ) , maf and map scaling , timing and a fair amount of other stuff ... Vvt looks like one table ! Which can't be right ....

There are a few tables I'm looking at first ...

>> axis tables - these populate the column and row headings in the other tables... I think we need to understand their relationship to the tables before anything else
>> map scaling = 3 parameters one is the multiplier the other the offset but the other is "I don't know " lol maybe slope

And the axis tables are also bound together and interrelated ...

Something I found SUPER helpful was the EcuEdit (same layout) tutorial vids on youtube that Epifan setup. At first glance, they seem pretty much useless since it looks like he just kind of clicks on everything without explaining anything (which is true more or less)

HINT: turn on the CC (closed caption) box in the YouTube options down by fullscreen/resolution, etc... He has a whole host of comments that he later added describing what he's doing. He shows/describes how to change the axis headers as well as compare two different maps to each other to see the changes you've made before flashing.

MazdaEdit discussion

Gone head 2 toe on the tables and

- scaling the injectors should be ok but don't know how to calculate the latency variances for the different atmospheres .... Is the atmosphere = fuel pressure - atmosphere or is it just atmosphere ( map)

- scaling the maf & map should be just like every other platform ... Enter in the corrections and then refine

- fuel tables are not what I expected , they seem to set targets and it isn't totally apparent thru the descriptions which tables are used when ....
