Thule Roof Rack too narrow

I am about to purchase a Mazda5 but I don't know if I hould take the roof rack or not ! I do need a roof rack however the one that is sold at the dealer is a narrow 50inch (or less?) thule where the pads are made in such a way that they cannot accomodate larger 65/78 inches bars ! I cannot find any info on Thule's plan to release roof rack pads that can takes larger bars in the coming months !!!

Anyone knows anything about Thule's plans for releasing a roof rack that is not a narrow Mazda dealer Exclusive !

Re: Thule Roof Rack too narrow

I have the large Thule carrier for long trips. Fits the minivan rack (GM) OK, but curious to know if the Mazda5 roof rack installed by the dealer will accomodate it. Hopefully someone here can help us both.
