Got mine, you're right, it's like getting it new again. Only bummer was a pretty big scratch along the passenger side door and they somehow curbed the edge of the passenger rear wheel pretty badly, which I missed the day I got it, must have been on the downward side of the wheel. They buffed out the scratch the day I picked it up, and ordered a new wheel for me today. The new muffler they put on as part of the mod has a chrome tip, one thing I was disappointed about before. The old had a tin one. So, I guess I'm pretty happy overall. No "Hey stupid don't forget to shift", either.

Ours somehow got hail damage. I didnt notice it before we brought it in but i checked today and none of the others that were stored with mine have any damage.

I wish we had more activity on here. Now that they can start selling them again hopefully we will start getting more members.

We will, & more will be sold. People are starting to find out you can drive one almost as spirited as the 3's, from zoom-zoom live, etc. EVERYONE I talk to likes the 5. People stop us on the street to talk about it.

Re: Got my 5 (back Finally!) -- read last post

I actually drove about 2 miles out of my way yesterday keeping up a conversation with a woman in an MPV with nearly 100,000 miles on it. her first question was, "Are they replacing the MPV with THAT?!" By the time I finally turned off she was saying she is going to her dealer for a test drive.

On a sidenote, I am one of those who chose to take their 5 back during the recall period. I was a little concerned that I might be treated like a second-class citizen once the parts were in, and I'm sad to say that seems to be the case. After reading reports of happily reunited drivers, I called my dealer a week and a half ago and had to leave a message after three attempts to reach a live rep failed. I finally called back yesterday and was told all of the 5s were fixed and back on the road. Not mine, I told the rep. He said he would check to see if there were any more parts kits left that they could give me (?!). He called back this morning and said there was indeed a kit with my VIN on it and that I could schedule a time to bring it in. I will take it in tomorrow.

I am more than just a little miffed that I had to call them, twice, about this. I was told that I shouldn't take my 5 back during the recall. I was made to sign a pseudo-waiver. I was told to be careful. I was told that I WOULD BE CONTACTED AS SOON AS THE PARTS WERE IN. I did my part and the dealer seems to have lost concern for me and my safety in the meantime. I asked him when, exactly, I was going to be notified that my recall parts were in and he didn't have an answer.

So far I've been treated very well by the dealer although I have had to initiate all of my contact with them about the recall. They are not the closest dealer but they had the right 5 at the right price when I made my purchase. Kind of sad I guess that they aren't great with their followup, but we'll see how it goes tomorrow. I now have 2600 miles on my 5 and am going to get my first (free) oil change performed as well as having the seatbelt nag disabled. Depending on how this goes, I might be looking for a different service department closer to home.

I'm not speeding, I'm qualifying
