Wink Modification Suggestions For M3

So i have an '04 Mazda 3 which is completely stock other then my new 17x8 Wheels. Im looking for some suggestions for both Hp and better loooking modifications that i should do to my car first. I was thinking with going with a cold air intake and a new exhaust but everyone has their own starting mods and reasons behind it. So give me some good suggestions. Thanks!

Don't even bother with the intake and exhaust; you may gain a few HP up near redline at wide-open-throttle, but your midrange torque will suffer; not worth the money. The best bang for the buck are better rubber and driving lessons on a track (either rally or road, errr, or both).

Intake and Exhaust are more for sound and a bit of performance unless you get a tune. Personally i like having an aftermarket intake and the exhaust is just personal preference.

The NA Power Stage 1,2,and 3 posts stickied in the Modifications FAQ's Powertrain section for 2004-2009 has some good info. Modifications - FAQ's, How-To's - Mazda3 Forums : The #1 Mazda 3 Forum

You can start with a few basics mods. I started with the HPS air intake, Racing Beat exhaust and the Hypertech programmer calibrated for premium fuel. These few mods have made my 3 a helluva lot peppier. There's not much you can do without spending large amounts of flow.

Depends on what you want to do. I say build suspension, coilovers, rear sway bar, then Intake exhuast. At the end of the day it depends on what you want from your car
