08 Mazda3 Hatchback...need advice.

O'la. So last night a Honda Civic pulled up next to me, I could tell it had some mods but I thought, my stock Mazda should at least be able to keep up, man was I wrong. He blew my doors OFF!!!! So, now I am pissed. I need to do something. I am looking for some small mods that will give me big performance. Any suggestions? Maybe an intake mod, an exhaust mod, both, chip...I dunno. This is my first car.

Thanks!

I try not to worry about what other drivers do. Saves me time, money and headache.

Can you elaborate on the Civic? Around what year? Was it a Si?

Um, 2004 or so, had a pipe, body kit, possibly lowered. And when he took off, the tires were screaming! lol Oh and I didn't see Si on the back so not sure.

I guess maybe I should take some pictures of my ride...never really thought about it and I am pro photographer. My main body is a Nikon D3, I thought it was weird that when I signed up it asked what camera I had...

hondas can be made fast for very cheap.

and sorry, you're not going to get "big performance" for cheap. You might be able to get acceptably quick for under $1500 though (exhaust, header, intake, timing adv, pulleys and springs)

Yeah, we don't have much. ^^Those might get you 20hp, not going to make your tires scream. You have to cough up a lot of coin and boost (or just trade it in for a MS3!).

First, I NEVER mentioned cheap. I am 28 yrs old and a pro-photographer...I realize by my above statement that this is my first car, some may assume I am 16. I have ALWAYS owned trucks before this point.

oh oops when you said small I assumed cheap

Uhm, if you want fast you need to head over to the fi section.

Figure a grand for internals, 4g's for a kit (cheaper if you look in fs section), and another couple g's for tranny. Add in like $1100 for sways, springs and shocks too, then you'll be pretty quick
