Don't see why it wouldn't be true. That car just didn't have the right balance of attributes to be a success. Namely, not enough hp and mpgs. Hopefully, the next Mazda rotary car (if one ever comes into existence), will be more like the RX-7.

The next RX should be running a 300+ hp Turbo 4 and that's it ! The Wankel Rotary is a money pit!
