Summer 2014 - Back in action.

Winter 2014
Forecast says snow is coming, so I finished getting my car ready. Winter tires+rims on, did some rustproofing by hand, lubed all the locks n stuff, painted all chips and took the lip off ( :( guess i'll have to shovel the driveway after all)... should be good to go!

Spring 2013
Installed an Eibach Pro-Kit , Koni Yellows, DBA T2 Rotors & Hawks HPS pads

Summer 2012

Finished painting my front lip (finally), installed my redline hoodlift kit, and installed a boost gauge!

Spring 2012 - Slowly coming out of winter mode...

[2011-11-11] Winter mode!

[2011-10-15]HDR Photo taken at circuit ICAR. I did quite a few touchoups to the pic, but I think it turned out absolutely amazing!

[2011-07-24] New summer pics
Car got hit in the very back of an empty parking lot. GAHHH. Drew up some bandaids and got them vinyled by GTAdecal

Getting gas to go camping

Random Rainy day pic

[2011-05-01] Completed several projects, not so stock looking anymore! Still need to get the lip painted though, on top of a very big ToDo list

Stock, at home with my old 3GT!

So you finally got the Speed. Congrats. Already looking good with the front lip. We still need to meet up sometime.
Yeah man, finally made the big switch! We should meet up soon, I may be moving to Wichita if my interview goes well on the 25th...
Next friday that its nice out we should do marche central :p

-Updated first post-

My gf was away on vacation, and the guy that i rent from that keeps his car in the garage was gone, so i had a WHOLE GARAGE and NO GF to stop me from doing whatever i wanted!

Soooo I got a couple projects done from removing moldings to blacking out emblems, and then i washed/waxed both of our cars so i could snap a few pics.

Hopefully it doesn't rain tomorrow so I can actually take some nice outdoor pics for once...

Car looks really clean, I like what you've done with with it so far. Are your front windows tinted? Canada FTW
Thanks guys :D

And yeah, about the windows, they were, but I took them off after my gf got pulled over for her tints (any tint on the front is illegal in QC, we got ours done in ontario before we moved)

Lookin' good!

My sedan looks the same as yours (cause I have your old grill :p )! Except dropped + Rx8s.
Heh glad it worked out for you! Good choice on the RX8s, i was actually hoping to get some of those for my winters. Just missed out (by 1 hr) getting a set with brand new x-ice for $600 :( almost cried.

Dang thats a steal! Most local speeds here run 16 inch winters so that tires are narrower and cheaper.
Yeah I know eh? I was sooo unhappy that i missed it, the guy even lived 5 minutes from my house. Anyhow here is a teaser of my winter setup that I did end up buying:

Total cost was 7$ for the paint and vinyl lol. Lightly used wheels set me back $700, no name 17" MSSW rims from china mounted with 3 mo used Micheline X-Ice

What the wheels used to look like (not my pic, only one i could find):

After:

Next to my current MSR 086 summer wheels:

I think they turned out great :D

Oh ya, I know here in B.C. it's the same thing, were not allowed tint on the fronts which sucks, so that's why I was curious if your laws are different or not. The new wheels look sexy, you did a real nice job with them.

how did you do the red pin strip? is it paint or a sticker? and where did you get it?
Red pinstripe is vinyl (originally made for motorcycle rims, but its the same thing). Was surprisingly easy to install, I did mine wet just to be safe.
Bought it on ebay from CDG graphics. They seem to have raised their prices a bit (or else mine was on sale) but here it is:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/RED-MOTORCYCLE-CAR-RIM-STRIPE-WHEEL-DECAL-TAPE-STICKER-/380361606974?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item588f51873e

Wheel prep for paint took 2 hrs
Painting took 2 hrs
Vinyl took 2 hrs

Ok cool man thanks. So it comes with 4 rings right? And one last question did you clear coat over yours or put then in after the clear coat?
Not quite - it comes with like 16 1/4 rings which you match up and cut as required. This is because not all people want to put the ring in the exact same spot, and a whole ring at once would be hard to install.

And nope, no clear coat. Tremclad is really tough all on its own, and worst case i'll just touch it up in a year or two. Its black paint so its super easy to match.

Oh ok gotcha but it does cone with enough to do all 4 wheels right? Just making sure I don't need to buy 2 or anything
One sets enough. Keep in mind its for motorcycles with 2 wheels, but they've gotta do 2 sides each ;)

alright thanks for the help man! :Hi5:
NP, post pics when you're done! :)

-edit-
Oh, and a word of advice if you haven't applied vinyl too many times - if you're trying to get it to stick on a curved surface (i had to wrap about 2mm of mine over the edge of the lip) use a hairdryer to heat it up a bit, it molds/sticks better.
