2004-2010 MAZDA3 AND 2006-2009 MAZDA5 - SPECIFICATION CHANGE OF ENGINE MOUNT INSTALLATION BOLT
BULLETIN NOTE
This bulletin supersedes the previous bulletin 01-047/09 issued on10/16/09. The DESRIPTION has been revised.

APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
2004-2010 Mazda3 with VINs lower than JM1 BL**** ** 163897 (produced before June 1, 2009)

2006-2009 Mazda5 with VINs lower than JM1 CR**** ** 356308 (produced before June 1, 2009)

DESCRIPTION
The design and torque spec of the installation bolts for the No.1 (A and B) and No.3 engine mounts has been changed. Therefore, tighten the bolt by referring to the following information when it is replaced.

Spec change of No.1 engine mount installation bolt

Before June 1, 2009
June 1, 2009 and later

9YA1-61-205 (Bolt A)

9Y46-71-265 (Bolt B)
9YA0-2A-226 (Bolt B)

Torque Spec
104.2-132.6 Nm (76.8-97.8 ft-lbf)
72.6-90.9 Nm (53.5-67 ft-lbf)

Spec change of No.3 engine mount installation bolt

June 1, 2009 and later

74.5-104.9 Nm (55-77.3 ft-lbf)
70.7-93.1 Nm (52.2-68.6 ft-lbf)

NOTE: It is not possibly to identify the No.3 engine mount installation bolt visually for before and after June 1. If part number of the bolt is unknown, tighten to 74.5-93.1 Nm (55-68.6 ft-lbf).
