Default Noise on idle and acceleration

My 2004 2.0 Mazda3 has a noise that almost sounds like a rod knock on idle. It also increases speed with the acceleration of the car. There is a link to a video of it below. Judging by the video it sounds like its coming from the front left but I'm not 100% sure. Any ideas?

As crazy as it seems It could be an exhaust leak. Or a valve.

Well I know that some people have said before that the intake manifold makes noise. I think they were talking about the flaps. But if it's increasing with speed that makes me believe it would be a rod knock because I don't think that the intake manifolds noise would increase with speed. Maybe someone else with more knowledge than me can chime in.

Sounds to me like a slight rod knock. Try getting it diagnose at Mazda dealership.

I was hoping to avoid the dealer but I'll bite the bullet and take it in when I get some extra money. I'll post back when I do.

Did you do the AIT mod? Sounds like to me its a valve tick. Which it seems mazdas a notorious for.

how many miles on the car? are you loosing any oil?

at 140k miles on mine, it started loosing oil as the oil ring on #4 was gunked up and and i lost the rod bearing on #4, it spun and doubled itself up and was actually tapping on the head, thus sounding like valve noise.....

I was told it was a valve noise as well, ended up rebuilding the motor.
