Default Check engine and code po126 low coolant temperature

My mazda3 just had the check engine light come on, so i stopped at a nearby autozone to capture the code reading and was po126. Something to do with low coolant temperature or such, i checked fluid level and is fine. From what i gather the issue is either a bad sensor, bad thermostat, orsomething electrical, would a bad fuse cause this? And can i fix this myself, or do i need to go to mazda dealer. I was told at Auto zone that the parts were not available to public, only mazda. Can anyone assist me with instructions, or do i resort to letting Mazda troubleshoot and fix?
