in or around May I will finally get around to purchasing wheels for my car, this will kick off some cosmetic mods in the planning for about a year. I plan on doing a color combo that I have yet to see, and will remain a secret until it is done and unveiled. so my question is this, when painting wheel lips, what surface should I start with. should I order the rims with polished lip already, or just go with the black rims and go from there?
can't believe I've had my car for four years now and the only "mod" has been the stereo |

why not get them powder coated? if you really want to paint them yourself, i doubt it matters what you start with, you're gonna have to sand/ primer/ paint anyway

good point, and considering the fact I don't have the best area to work with...
all I want is a line around them much like all the black rims with the red stripe, just want a diff color, so there isn't even that much cover going on, just a thin line all the way around. |
