Well, it's been a while, but the Stealth box Group Buy is back! Snatch one up as part of your holiday upgrades!

For those of you who do not know, a friend of mine in Florida has been making a custom fiberglass sub box for the 3 hatch and is still working on the sedan version. It fits in the jack compartment in the left rear trunk area, has carpeting to match the color of your stock interior, and includes a built-in terminal. It fits an 8" sub, like the Kicker Comp 8" or Kicker Compvr 8", and sounds great. These two are recommended for their mounting depth but you can check the previous buys for other drivers that have been used. Riser rings at [sup]1[/sup]/[sub]2[/sub]" and [sup]3[/sup]/[sub]4[/sub]" are available as well, just in case you get something with a larger mounting depth requirement.

The regular price is $110, but for these Mazda3Forums Group Buys, he is doing them for 23% off!! That is $95 shipped! Carpeted riser rings in 1/2" or 3/4" are available for $10, dynamat liner for $10, and polyfil for $5. Just let me know in your PM if you want any of the extras.

At this time, the enclosure only fits the regular hatch and the speed3. Due to differences in model years, the sedan version is a royal pain, but is being worked on. A box for the 08 Sedan has already been made but is not in full production yet. I know he changed the size a bit, so the volume is a bit larger than previous versions. I'll check with him again to see. I'll add it to the original post at top.

The width of the jack opening really limits it to 8". If you're up to a little work, you could always try using a 10" diameter riser ring. That would allow the 10" diameter of the sub as well as a little more depth for the driver.

I'm still quite interested, but I never heard back with the volume of the box or if he would be able to mount that plate & post terminal setup.. I intend to run it with an RE audio RE8 sub & Soundstream Di175.1 amp, want to check some stuff over first..

There isn't enough flat space to properly mount that plate, but he's willing to try putting in those terminals you asked about for $15 more. The volume of the original design was around .62. This one isn't that much different (as there is not much room to work with back there) so it is likely only slightly more than that.

My concern is avoiding any of the air leaks that may occur with the plastic terminal plates.

Is this ending today, or once we hit 15?

I have not had any problems with air leaks on my box. There was only 1 comment about it from previous GBs and that was on the previous mold design.

I've extended the buy until the end of the day on December 3rd because the forums were experiencing issues this evening.
