Default Power Window Won't go down!

Got in my car the other day, after it had been parked out in the mall parking lot during my shift, and when I went to lower the Driver's side window, it wouldn't go down! Woul'd make any click or any type of noise. It was like this for about 2 hours. I was going to open up the door panel and when I complained about it to my neighbor he just stuck his finger in and it worked.

About a month later, I have it parked in front of my house, when I go to leave in the afternoon, again, it wouldn't go down!!
After about an hour or so, I tried it again, and it worked.

I don't know what happening??
This happen to anyone else??
Could the heat be a factor?? Its been in the high 90's for the past few months.

Hey,

Does anyone have an update on this? I have the same issue...on some days (it seems like hot days) my passenger front window will not work. It sounds like the realy may be clicking but no other window noises. After some amount of time it will 'magicly' work. I've tried looking around the window seals and helping the window down while the button is depressed but neither move the window. Any ideas....since it is hit or miss on how to reproduce I haven't taken it into the dealership. But I only have 1500 miles left on the warrenty (oh yeah mine's a 2006 5dr GT

My guess if tinting makes this problem worse, perhaps the glass is getting so hot that it is acting like a bimetal spring. Unequal heating even by a few degrees across the thickness of the glass could add up to a fairly strong spring action.

This results in the window being locked into place, especially since modern power windows have torque sensors that shut the motor off when it gets too large of a load.

I don't think you can blame any particular brand of car for this. I wouldn't be surprised that most power window motors come from one of a half-dozen or so parts suppliers all over the world.
