Default When to tune up your 3?

Hi guys,

I was reading my owner's manual for my 04 Mazda3, but really didnt get the information I was looking for.

I currently have 53000 miles on my 3, and was wondering when I should be considering a tune up (a full tune up, plugs, wires, filters (fuel included) belts, ect ect ect)? I havent really found any info on this.

Any help would be appreciated!!

A modern day tune up usually consists of just spark plugs. The "tuning" is electrical and automatic.

52K is early for spark plugs though. I'd maybe do spark plugs at 75k miles.

Everything else should be just an inspection. Wires and belts should be fine and you could just inspect them.

(Well unless you need air filter, cabin air filter, tranny oil, brake fluid, Oil/filter.)

As far as I know, I don't think we have a serviceable fuel filter.

Hmm, ill check everything this weekend and see how it looks. The only real reason I ask is this morning when I started my car to warm it up, it sounded a little bit like the belt was "whining" a bit, you know, like the sound when they may be getting a little old.

And, a non-serviceable fuel filter huh? That doesnt seem good?

yeah, seems odd to not have a servicable fuel filter.. you have to replace the whole pump I believe... but it supposedly lasts the "life of the car"
