I tried every combination until Decoman came through...........getting 26.3mpg on a 2006 3 S sedan automatic city driving. Just waiting to get out there on the highway. Big snow storm coming tonight........so it will be a few days before I can get out on the highway. Looking forward to seeing what I can do there. Will let you know!!

Before starting engine..........press CD and AM/FM buttons.....start engine....after 5 seconds you will see "DIS ON" .....turn off engine.....start again...........you should have the fuel computer info on your screen. It doesn't seem to work for all models, but it did for mine!!!!
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried but it didnt work and I have an 04 hatch... Also mine has 6 buttons on the top which are Clock, Set, FM1/2, AM, CD, and Tape/MD. I'm guessing different models have different buttons because i dont have a Sat. button, So that means I have to press 3 buttons right? I dont know how to get it working.

I think you're right Montes......I don't think it's going to work on older 3's....unless someone else can figure it out.

You hold the CD and AM/FM buttons at the same time with your ignition off. Then start your engine and keep holding them. It should show DIS ON and the fuel computer info....stop the engine and then start again. It should then display the fuel computer info on the left side of the screen for you. It just doesn't seem to work for every year and model..............

Yes, thanks to Deco79, I was able to get it also. I tried a little different approach though and it still worked.....I'll be as specific as I can but I know the instructions don't have to be exactly as I explain below....

Only for 06+ Models

1. Get in car and close door.
2. Put key into ignition (DO NOT TURN YET!)
3. Hold down the AM/FM button AND the CD button.
4. With your other hand (while still holding the buttons) turn your key to the ACC position. The Hello message will appear on your display, and as soon as it goes away it will be replaced by DIS ON.
5. You may now let go of the AM/FM button and CD button.
6. Turn ignition off.
7. Turn your car on and drive away! :D

PS. You will note that you will need to push the "Set" button to toggle through the different Driver Info modes.

Once again, I take no credit for this, this is all thanks to Deco79 (Andreas)

I think mine has it because when i press the 2 knob at the bottom to change the contrast to make the words darker, I can see the little words at the top of the left square and right under the words i can see where it would show the miles... all this is right above the time display i believe one word is accum??? I just need to find out which buttons i need to press

okay i got it to say DIS ON.

then i put my car back on ACC after turning it off. but do i gotta turn on the car completely like start the engine? Just wondering cause im not going anywhere tonight.

Yes, turning on ACC will not turn on the fuel computer (because the car is using zero amount of fuel). You have to start the engine for it to show up.
