Default air conditioner

Do you guys notice that when the air conditioner is on and the car is not moving, every now and then the engine would produce a zzzz sound...it keeps on and off on and off..i am not sure bout it when it is moving...is it normal guys?Pardon me if this post is stupid,...cos i am a complete newbie here..

i dont know compressor or whats that called but this thing seems to be on and off...although the air cond is on all the way..

Yeah, my car does it as well, fairly noisy as well.

Every car with a/c I've had does that too. I always thought (like Vormund) it was the a/c's compressor kicking in and out which is easier to notice at rest.

ok...cos in my dad rx300, i didnt notice that..not even on landcruiser prado..thats y i thought something was wrong with my car..

It's normal our commodore and corolla both make different noises when the compressor turns itself on and off.
