Unfortunately, I am in the same boat for my new car. I have not had any luck with this....I am trying to look into getting an alarm installed at the same time...if I figure it out, I will post it on here.
If you have just power locks but no key less alarm, that can be easily done. Just make sure you are going to a reputable stereo/alarm shop. But if you have no power locks, you will have to get actuators with the alarm.
I am also in the same situation. I was wondering if you guys knew any specific kits (just keyless entry, no actuators) that work well with the 2011 models. Thanks
I just installed an inexpensive one. I only use it for door locks but it is a full alarm if you want.
Galaxy G20 from amazon.
Works good. Here is my post about it. http://www.mazda3forums.com/index.php?topic=190513.0
I just had the Viper 211HV installed at Best Buy for $139, no alarm but the factory keyless isn't either. It has an AUX channel for accesories so I also bought the DEI 522t trunk release actuator off ebay and I am going to install that myself.
Sorry to dig up an old thread. I have a 2011 iSport with the power door locks. The car already should have the receiver for the standard keyless fob, mine did, however if you want to add the switch blade key it does need to be changed. When I get off work I'll post the instruction for the BCM responce so you can test to see if it's there. The ones for the 2011 are slightly different than what was floating around on here last time I checked.
Panda, were you able to find these instructions? i have tried all the ones i can find - would be interested to see if the instructions you have would work. thanks
I purchased the Viper Keyless Entry System and had it installed at Best Buy. $150 included installation. Works well and even comes with a small blue LED light in the car. Installation took about 4 hours but I dropped my car off and he called me when he was done with it.
Yea I went with Viper as well I grabbed the 5701 with motion detection and smart start which I highly push I can start my car anywhere I have a cell phone signal. I was at the mall the other day and got a text alert my car alarm had been triggered from the motion detector I walked out nothing was I have it set so sensitive that if someone parks next to me and gets out of their car it triggers the motion detection. If I had just had the normal ket chain reciever it wouldn't have picked up the two way signal in the mall. So I highly reccomend Smart Start if you go with Viper. And Viper has a App for iphones and Droids for Smart Start thats free
For those still wanting to add keyless entry see my post and picture album
I know many have moved on since these posts are from years ago. But for those who want to add keyless entry to their Mazda 3 2010, 2011, and 2012, look for my post and my photo album where I show in detail what to do.
