Eonon claimed their units were Bose compatible out of the box too, yet required some fooling with to work. I'm skeptical.

The issue is Bose amp is looking for an un-amplified signal that they in turn amplify before driving the speakers. The outputs of ALMOST EVERY aftermarket head unit route through their own amplifier as if you're going to drive the speaker directly. That amplified signal does not jive with the Bose amplifiers.

Typical solutions involve A. Splicing RCA plugs onto the ends of the speaker wires going to the head unit and plugging into the appropriate RCA outputs that would typically drive an aftermarket amp or B. Bypassing the Bose amplifier and running the speaker wires straight from the head unit to the speaker connections on the other side of the Bose amp.

Both of the above are doable, but neither is plug and play, which is why I'm always skeptical of any head unit that claims to be Bose compatible out of the box.
