Thinking about getting some window tint but un sure with what to go with. Could you guys post some pics of 20% and 35% window tint so I get a good idea of the difference. Also it does not matter with the cops because my dad (a doctor) hooked me up with a eye perscription saying I need the tint. Also your opinions would be awesome! Thanks.

i think 35% would be too much privacy for me..

i would like dark windows, but i would still like ppl to be able to see some of whats going on inside (for example, making eye contact.. rolling down windows to do that is just pointless)

i would prefer 20%

I have a light sensitivity, got a doctors approval, but the DMV said no, did you get it cleared with both. I was told by police they do not go by doctors notes because you can wear sunglasses.

Definitely go with 20. I have 15% all around and still don't think that it's dark enough. I'm not ballsy enough to hit up the limo tint though. 35% is very light. My neighbor has a black Scion TC with 35% / black interior and i didn't know he had tint until he told me.

30%

20%

15%

I couldn't find 35%.

Keep in mind, the reason the tint looks so bright is because it was 5 minutes after it got applied and it's in full sun light. depending on the angle you look at it, and your interior color, it will be darker.

i think i got them confused  i thought 20% tint meant 80% light in.. and 35% tint is 65% light in.. which means 35% tint is darker than 20%, right??

I also would have gone 20% all around, but GA law is 35%
Here is 35% front and back, 20% rear

35% looks darker when sun hits @ certain angle

What is Florida law? Is it 35% front and 20% for the rest of the windows?

According to tintlaws.com it is:

Front: 28%
Back&Rear: 15%

I am not from Florida, nor do I necessarily encourage trusting information you find on the internet, so take that as you may. ;)

Reflective tint adds a lot too. Some angles I can't see through it at all...

My choice was easy getting 35% though since we are only allowed 80%! yes 80% here in PA...
[/quote]

I love how the reflective tint looks, but how does this pass inspection. I dont think it would, even at 35%. Well here in NC I doubt I would pass, right now I have nothing. Passing is 35% but it does not even seem worth it. Id much rsther have 20%, but do not want to get pulled for tint.

per florida law...

316.2953 Side windows; restrictions on sunscreening material.--A person shall not operate any motor vehicle on any public highway, road, or street on which vehicle the side wings and side windows on either side forward of or adjacent to the operator's seat are composed of, covered by, or treated with any sunscreening material or other product or covering which has the effect of making the window nontransparent or which would alter the window's color, increase its reflectivity, or reduce its light transmittance, except as expressly permitted by this section. A sunscreening material is authorized for such windows if, when applied to and tested on the glass of such windows on the specific motor vehicle, the material has a total solar reflectance of visible light of not more than 25 percent as measured on the nonfilm side and a light transmittance of at least 28 percent in the visible light range. A violation of this section is a noncriminal traffic infraction, punishable as a nonmoving violation as provided in chapter 318.

316.2954 Windows behind the driver; restrictions on sunscreening material.--

(a) Sunscreening material consisting of film which, when applied to and tested on the rear window glass of the specific motor vehicle, has a total solar reflectance of visible light of not more than 35 percent as measured on the nonfilm side and a light transmittance of at least 15 percent in the visible light range; however, sunscreening material which, when applied to and tested on the rear window glass of the specific motor vehicle, has a total solar reflectance of visible light of not more than 35 percent as measured on the nonfilm side and a light transmittance of at least 6 percent in the visible light range may be used on multipurpose passenger vehicles.
