Can you add under each one whether or not they added an after market rear mount and which mount broke.

I'm a bit fed up of hearing this.
The mount DID NOT BREAK. The bolt came out loose causing the engine to fall. and it comes loose because a piece of rubber gets in between 2 plates and with the rebound effect causes the bolt to be under torqued and it slowly unscrews up to the point of snapping/getting out completely.
And it's all mount #3 as they call it, driver's side transmission mount.
It'd be nice to know the build dates of those cars, how many miles they have, and any mods done. Like others have said, the fact that more are being reported has far too many confounding variables, mainly due to increased numbers on the road, more time for abuse, etc.
still aint worried over here if it happens it happens (just underwarranty plaease!!)
but thats what 11 us out of 5,000
and 13 worldwide out fo 12000. Seams pretty good. And a better track record than say the mazdaspeed clutch issue. or the tundra motor dying. or the old one
the chevy avalanches where on the raio they annouced for everyone to stop driving there trucks asap. as in once they heard the annoucment they were to park that moment and call a tow truck (the suspension was failing and possible to fall out)
But goon info, and still a decent percentage otu of whats there.
You cant count us as being all 5000...if everyone posted on the count thread than we only have about 215 mazdaspeeds on the forum and 11/215 isnt that great. I wonder how many have broke in Japan, didnt they already recall it?

Excellent points!! If 5% of all MS3's have this problem - it's a big one!
Yeah I sent Autoweek the email and they were very interested...in it I gave him the link to this Speed Forum and the 24/7 one to keep an eye on it. I don't want to email him too much/bug him, I'll follow up at some point with him so he actually reads the email. I think what I sent him on the first one sunk in.
On another note...I just checked my mount today. Bolt seemed to be in place OK, not torqued down though, little if any effort to loosen. When removed the same thing as others said...loc-tite only visible all the way near the top where the threads probably barely hit anything. Regardless it's done right now and I'll check it again down the road. 3/07 build and 950 miles I personally didn't notice a huge difference in the shifting afterwards.
and again, other than that I love the car.....and now I won't be thinking about that as much when driving.
According to the NHTSA's preliminary evaluation, as of March 13th they estimated 2500 vehicles potentially affected. So using a little math, we can assume that Mazda has been pumping out ~315 MS3's a month for the U.S. However, that means in order for Mazda to deliver 5000 vehicles to the U.S. they need to be producing an average of 625 a month, before the typical time for 08's would be built. So coupling these assumptions with the data above, here is what I have found:
What is interesting is that if you do a trend analysis, you will find that in 5 years at least 2.5% of the vehicles will have this occur.

What is with their threadlocker applications? Is there a dispenser that's poorly calibrated or just plain broken or something? I don't see how anyone on the assembly line could think that a tiny dab of locktite and the very top few threads of the bolt could really help anything. That's made obvious by all of us here (myself included) who've almost been able to undo the bolt by hand.

actually its the #4 mount...but i copied the OP in this thread into my thread so we have a 'central' location for all of this stuff.

Please review the outcome of the personal review by Japanese Auto Expert. As I recall he flew into the area specifically from Mazda to view your car. Should you wish to be our HERO you could take the reigns of this ... Call MAZDAUSA and request to pass this thread via email for review directly to this genteman. I am a perspective buyer but in no way will I make a purchase until I am satisfied that a correction is being launched by Mazda. Mazda has a clear repuation of "doing nothing" to save costs...I too can do "nothing" about my purchase...please assist if possible...
would the people that this happened to PLEASE submit well written, coherent statements to the NHSTA? I think only 3-4 people did but they were not well documented and did not include their VIN numbers.

Doubt that Mazda will do anything because customers ask them too. Harsh reality but it's true. We are going to need to put pressure on Mazda by using other powers. Such as

sorry to sound stupid, but do the engine mounts that Corksport is selling (or at least taking orders for 8)) get installed where these bolts are loosening or failing? I mean are these suppose to help out? Do you have to undo these bolts to mount them?

No failing mount is the left side trans. mount. The CS inserts, AWR and SU are all rear mounts. Suppose to help take stress of the failing mount, but one person had theirs fail with an aftermarket mount it it.
Why haven't these people notified the NHTSA? There have only been 5 reports to the Feds!
