TekArmor Mud Flaps - Made my own, looking good.

I wanted a nice set of Mudflaps, Rally Armors were too damn expensive.

So I got ahold of the rally armor Pattern, and made my own.
I used the rear pattern for all 4 as the fronts are different.

I also made them about 20% bigger as far as length and a bit wider as well.

I went to Lowes and picked up 2 trash cans made from black Acrylic, pretty tuff yet still flexible.
Traced the pattern, got 2 out of each Trash can.

Not easy to cut, I used a dremmel and a small cutting bit at about half speed.
Nice and steady, keeping away from my outline.
2 hours later all 4 were cut and I sanded the edges smooth.

Total cost so far $15

I bought 8 push clips, and various clips.

Total cost now about $25

I used my pattern and also created my own mounting holes for better fitment.

The end results are priceless, looks better than Rally Armors to me.
Covers the tires completly and makes the car look very agressive.

Check out the pics below.

I have to agree, those do look a bit better than ra mud flaps, more substantial.

Thanks!!!

Yeah the rally Armors were not bold enough for my taste, plus I hated the front pattern, way to small.

I created my own pattern. I might be willing to make these for others, for now I could make them for 04 to 09 Hatchbacks. I have to put together a complete parts list and perfect my pattern, make instructions as well. Not sure how much I would charge, was about 2 to 3 hours in labor alone.

Those look sick, nice job man
BTW did you use urethane or another material?

Cut from 2- 41 QT Wastebaskets made by United Solutions
Its a really rugged plastic, not like a typical mudflap material.
Harder and stronger.

This is the one I bought, pefect size.

look hot but, i dont know how my car would look with mudflaps on
For a long time I thought about it.
I was thinking mudflaps are for trucks only

But when I had the idea to make rally armor flaps only bigger and more agressive.
Then I said screw it and did it, really happy with the look.

My wife wants me to make her a set in Silver for her SUV.
Actually the same exact pattern fits her Grand Vitara.

The mudflaps look good and they are functional.

hmm maybe i mite make a set but i suck at cutting things :p
I had mentioned earlier I might be willing to make a few sets for some members, pending price and labor. Gotta think about it.

I know Materials are about $25 to $30
Bout 2 to 3 hours labor cutting.
Also shipping cost.

Send me a PM if your interested, maybe we can figure something out.

i did this but that trash looks a lot better to use, the one i got was smaller and the rear flaps are too small
Yeah you have to buy a bigger can and make a bigger pattern.
I tried and failed before with small flaps, not the way to go.

Also getting the right material is key.

I have the perfect pattern now.

Would you be willing make a .PDF of the templates that we can download so we can make this ourselves?
+1 they look really clean

Edit by LaraW: You need vendor status before offering pricing on these.

They came out great. Just keep in mind they are made from garbage cans so come mid-summer they're going to start to warp and in the winter they will get brittle and crack
Holy crap, I hope not, that would suck
If that happens I will have to find a different material to make these out of.
