Crzyone01 Stealth box installed!!! (PICs YES, 56k NO)
« on: November 12, 2005, 07:31:36 PM »
Well I went to see Jeba at his shop. Sound Solutions in Chantilly Va. Nice looking shop and John is very knowelageable about car audio/video. After a quick check of my supplied parts (subbox/amp) and a quick check of the amp it was install time.
First let me say John is very through on doing installs. He works quickly yet carefully. A LOC converter with gain control was custom mounted with the control knob centered between the pass airbag warning and the 12v power point. Then run the wiring to under the drivers seat to the amp and finally route the wiring to and installing the actuall sub. After powering up we found the amp I supplied was not sending any signal out to the sub so a new Alpine unit was installed. It fired right up and sounds very nice.
Im not getting earth shattering bass but am getting the low end fill I was after. The install is very well done and very reasonably priced. I am going to be returning for a alarm upgrade and more audio upgrades...
Over all I was very impressed with John and Sound Solutions in Chantilly Va... If your in the area and have a car audio need youll be hard to beat the fast/friendly and professional service they can provide...
Thanks again John I appreciate your input/recommendations and also permitting to watch the install...
Now on to the pics....

Forget geek patrol this is sooo much better....

Interior shot of the shop.....

If you open up the stock scissor jack about 1/2 way you can place it inside the rim of the spare tire with the mounting bolt running through the center of the jack.  Of course for people that remove the tire for more audio storage space keeping the jack is kinda silly.  That's what's great about crazyone01's enclosure, the car's still fully functional.

Looks great TGM3

got any more pics of the speaker box before it was installed?
What was used jeba? MDF and some 'glass?
Would like to do something like that too, but in a Sedan, it will still work, right?

EDIT: Ya, I saw the other threads using MDF and 'glass, but will it still work well in a sedan, or would you recommend something else?

i was in chantilly all summer long, i went to sound advice, they were like.. "we're uhhh gonna need you in the garage for 18 or so hours for that fiberglass, it'll be about $700-$800 to get that work done"  ha, what a joke.  you got a good deal for parts and labor with these guys.  box look awesome, if i had the money i would have gone the same route.  i did it myself for $30 in fiberglass and 4 days of my life.... results are quite similar, so you made me feel proud of my work. :D

Hey I have a question for you, is that the stock floor pans in your hatch ?  Mine look very much different, is yours not a 2004 or are those custom?

I think those are his floormats (upside-down).  don't worry CrzyOne01, he didn't get any extra bells and whistles.  :)
