Snap noise from the front left???

I have just started noticing a loud snap like noise from what sounds like the front left.   It seems to happen mostly in 1st and second after leaving from a stop.  Sounds weird anyone have any ideas or experience anything similar.  My guess would be something to do with the suspension or the breaks....
