Well I'm here at time attack to help film Ryan gates, 2008 evo x by ams, but on the way in low and behold the mazdaspeed 3 rally car! Burmeister was really nce and we hung out with them most the day. I have tons of pics, video and a interview with him and the car. It was sooo sweet. There was also a ms3 with cpe parts on it but was in a different class. I'll post more when I get to a pc, but tomorrow a the race, today was just test n tune.

yeah Ryan Gates. He is from my home town. I met and saw his car before all the CF parts and while he was stripping it for a roll cage..here is a vid of that day

He won the modified class. Tarzan won over all fastest time and unlimited. the Rally MS3 was put into unlimited because of the gear box, but should of been in modified, he couldnt keep up to those insane powered evox and sti. Burmeisters rally ms3 is also a rally car so it doesnt have any light weight mods just stripped out. If he ran modified or street he would be much more competitive. There was also a red ms3 with cpe parts on it there.

Didnt we figure out that was a regular mazda 3 using the MS3 front fascia?

Or maybe it was a MS3 using the a regular 3 engine. I know that car doesnt use the DISI from the MS3.

Yes it is a mazda 3 wagon (he bought it before the ms3 was announced) and he had talked to mazda and actually turboed the car and gave mazda feed back on what worked and what didnt to help make the ms3. I think its the plain 2.3 with some cosworth parts cuz he was pushing 400-500 hp and the disi mzr really doesnt do that well yet.

did he remove the fogs and everything to allow room for intercooler piping? thats what it looks like and i like it (on the ms3)

Well when I was looking fogs could of fit, but as a rally car they would be broken, so they were removed. BUT you know that black plastic that surrounds them? that part was there saturday then I looked sunday and he had cut that out hahhaha. I think he was trying to cool the brakes better as they were over heating.
