At least 15 speeding/excessive speeding, another 10+ for various other things (excessive noise, dangerous driving, failure to yield, failure to obey traffic signal, improper lane changes, no seatbelt, accelerating too fast from a stoplight, blah blah blah) in the last 10 years since i got my license.

My license was also pried from my hands 6 different times for the above reasons, as well as a couple for driving while suspended, and once for driving while under court order against which also included a breach of probation against being found in the driver's seat at any time of any vehicle.  The lengths of the suspensions varied from 6 weeks to 20 months.

The last ticket I got was in September of this year. I was doing 114 kmh in a 90 kmh, which was what the other traffic was doing - but I was the unlucky one to get caught.

In my defense, I have slowed down considerably since my Days of Indestructibility.

I have tallied a conservative estimate of how much I have paid in traffic fines, driver point penalties, court fees, court fines, and laywer's fees to be over $24,000.

Am I learning my lesson? Gradually.

My most important tip for those of you who have an acute and hard-to-tame lead-foot: Find a laywer and slap down a retainer.

I feel blessed you live out on the west coast :P haha. I obey all traffic laws (stop signs, signalling, intersection lights, etc, etc) except for speeding which I do not as an exception but rather as the rule. In fact, I hardly ever drive at the speed limit. I guess I am incredibly lucky never to have been caught.

One warning, zero tickets, and I've been driving for 6 years, over 100,000 miles.  Oh, and I speed a lot.  Knock on wood, because I have no intention of getting a ticket ever.

2 years on my own, plus one year with my parents in the car. No tickets, pulled over once for a headlight that was out due to a hit and run on my car while it was parked. I have, um, evaded a couple of times though. Never really full blown ran from the cops, a la OJ, but I've blown past speed traps and then busted out of there down all sorts of side streets/parking lots/etc.
Enjoy your spahgetti, you're very rude.

3 speeding tickets.

(1) 160 in a 100 zone in my Mustang. The cop pull me out of my car at gunpoint and then frisked me.

(2) 148 in 100 zone in my Mustang

(3) 88 in a 50 zone in my Mustang.

That was within 2 years.

No tickets since I got my Mazda3, which I got in Feb '04.

I've had 3 tickets.  One when I was in college driving a crappy Chevy Chevette.  I always joked that the cop should have rewarded me for being able to exceed the speed limit in that car.

And, 2 tickets when I owned my Infiniti G35.  That car just begged to be driven fast...and I did!

None so far in the 3...hope that trend continues!

3 in 20 years. All speed. All guilty. None "dangerous". None in this car.

I was a  ham radio operator. The cop who stopped me second time was too.
He shined flashlight in car asked, "where's the 2 meter rig" (transmitter). I didn't even finish answering the question as he went on and on how he was new to the hobby and having fun.

He finally stopped himself and said he was sorry to give me a ticket as he had just given one to another ham radio operator and couldn't give me a warning.

Not one word about slowing down, being careful, etc. He wrote the ticket and left.

Two tickets in 2 years.

The first became completely ironic. I got stopped at the corner where I currently live (moved here 2 years after the ticket)... and in retrospect, I shouldn't have gotten the ticket at all. The cop spotted the speeding car at a cross-street that was parallel to the street I was driving on - I had never even driven on the street he said I was speeding on. Sucky that I didn't know anything about the area at the time.

The second ticket was last February. I had taken a solo snowboarding trip to Squaw Valley (best day of snowboarding in my life!!), and was hurrying home... weaving to some extent and driving 85 or so in the mountains; lots of fun. But what I didn't realize was air surveillance was following me as well. The cop decided to give the ticket at 81 mph rather than the 85 he said they caught me at.

Both tickets were in my Tribute.

None in almost 20 years of driving and only pulled over once WAAAAAAY back just 4 days after I got my license.  As if I wasn't already self-conscious because it was only the 2nd time I was driving solo, an officer got behind me and I suppose I was paying so much attention to him in my rearview, I started to weave in my lane, so he pulled me over.  As soon as he saw I had a new temporary license and heard my explanation, he started laughing, handed me my license, and left.

While I wouldn't attribute my not getting any speeding tickets to luck, I also would never say it's been "skill" or constant vigilance.  I do exceed the 65mph speed limit on the freeway, but I don't draw extra attention to myself by changing lanes every 1000 feet or running an imaginary slalom course between other cars.

Of course, I also think that traffic enforcement is, at best, arbitrary so maybe luck does have something to do with it.

I have had 3 parking tickets, though.  Even got one right in front of my own house, which may be even more embarrassing that getting a speeding ticket.  Hehe.

i got a warning back in september; 40 mph in a 25. i think i got away with a warning cuz i was really sick and i was just trying to get home to go to sleep...

october 7, like a week before my birthday, i got an aggressive driving ticket. $355 and 5 points! um, ya.. im deff going to court to fight it on the 22nd of this month. The cop was really mean to me at first but then after he wrote me the ticket and asked why i was driving like that i went all off telling him that i was so depressed cuz of everything that was going on in my life at the moment that by the end of it he was like just like, go to court and fight this, if you just pay it off you'll probably lose your license, then he got into his car and pulled off leaving me there... um, cops normally wait for you to leave first... anyways, wish me luck next week in court... i have no clue what im gonna say to the judge. it sux tho, im only 17 and i gotta go to court for an aggressive driving ticket...lol

lol, i had tunnel vision that night... i was just going... the cop was undercover btw, if he wasnt i wouldnt have gotten a ticket... anyways, aggressive driving is pretty much speeding and switching lanes a whole lot. my mom was telling this one guy that got a reckless driving ticket that the difference between a reckless driving and an aggressive driving ticket is that aggressive driving means you know what you're doing. I hope that helps

Twelve years of driving, no tickets, one warning.

Believe you me, I don't drive the speed limit.

Not commuting to work is a factor. Not driving a hot car for most of the twelve years was another factor. In my old '87 Toyota Corolla by the time I got that car up to speed, I was already at another intersection.

The one time I got a warning was when I was on a highway on the way to visit an old girlfriend. I borrowed my dad's 4Runner and had already bought flowers on the way. When the cop saw the flowers he asked what for and I told him I wanted to make up with an old girlfriend and I was in a rush to see her. He said, awww and gave me a warning.

1 ticket in 12 years of hard driving.  It was actually in a 95 Peterbilt.  I was leaving a town and as I pulled next to the speed limit sign going from 55 to 65mph I hit resume on the cruise.  I WAS doing the speed limit at the time.  Across the road in the bushes these lights start flashing and I pull over.  The officer claimed that by the time my trailer passed the sign it was doing 68mph which was physically impossible.  I didn't argue, just paid the ticket plus $20 for deferred adjudication and 90 days probation.  That was back in 99.  I didn't fight it or argue with the cop because I figured it was my turn and this was for all the times I didn't get a ticket.

The best warning I received was for 87mph in a 55mph.  Again in a semi I topped a hill at midnight and got popped.  I BS'd with the deputy for about an hour or so and he let me off with a warning.  To this day I don't speed in his county.  That summer I received 4 warnings, 1 speeding ticket, and 1 paperwork ticket (no physical certificate).  I'm glad I survived my 10ft tall and bulletproof phase and didn't kill anyone in the process.
