At least 15 speeding/excessive speeding, another 10+ for various other things (excessive noise, dangerous driving, failure to yield, failure to obey traffic signal, improper lane changes, no seatbelt, accelerating too fast from a stoplight, blah blah blah) in the last 10 years since i got my license.
My license was also pried from my hands 6 different times for the above reasons, as well as a couple for driving while suspended, and once for driving while under court order against which also included a breach of probation against being found in the driver's seat at any time of any vehicle. The lengths of the suspensions varied from 6 weeks to 20 months.
The last ticket I got was in September of this year. I was doing 114 kmh in a 90 kmh, which was what the other traffic was doing - but I was the unlucky one to get caught.
In my defense, I have slowed down considerably since my Days of Indestructibility.
I have tallied a conservative estimate of how much I have paid in traffic fines, driver point penalties, court fees, court fines, and laywer's fees to be over $24,000.
Am I learning my lesson? Gradually.
My most important tip for those of you who have an acute and hard-to-tame lead-foot: Find a laywer and slap down a retainer.
