2014 Mazda 3 Temp

So I was driving on the Vegas Strip (stop n go) for about 3-4 hours- picked up four large friends- AC had been working all day fine- shortly after they got into the car and then turned my AC on full blast, it started blowing hot air out....I turned it off...then turned it on lower in about 5 mins- it is 75 degrees out today- when i turned it back on it was coolig again...I noticed the temp was going from 83 degres to like 88, then would go back down again and then up again...i only have 20k miles on it...HELP!!

Sounds like the evap coil iced up; a fairly common issue with smaller cars. Once the coil thawed, presto, cold air again.

The problem is that most modern cars have a temp sensor on the evaporator to prevent this from happening. If it does have a sensor then something is wrong.

My old 6 used to do this when it was really hot and humid. Once it was moving for a while it was fine. But stop and go was a no go for the AC. One thing I might suggest would be a new cabin air filter. If the air ain't moving, the air ain't cooling.

Man your car is under warranty tell them what happened. Worse case scenario they do nothing but at least now there's a record of a failure which might be useful in the future. Make sure the write up an ro.

I do this from my phone. Do the BSD. slight vibration increase. Zoom-zoom 😎
