how hard and how long to install HID kit/Foglight kit.

hey i was wondering how hard is it to install a hid kit and how long will it take. think it is worth bringing it to a shop to install it? if so how much am i looking to pay?
also for the foglight you have to remove the bumper to install them right and run a couple of wires?

Always something new. Never ending possibility.

Re: how hard and how long to install HID kit/Foglight kit.

Not worth taking to a shop for HIDs, should take 2 hours MAX, and thats only if you have some trouble with the clips. Took me and a friend about 2 hours but it was cold outside and almost an hour of that was because we had some problems with the clips and went inside a few times.

As for fogs, I wouldnt think so, but I havent done it.

Re: how hard and how long to install HID kit/Foglight kit.

If you have fogs already the HID conversion is simple.

I got my kit from dabears2k.com and it was very simple. Run power from battery, plug in old feeds for triggers, plug in ballasts and bulbs. Took about 1 1/2 hours.

If you dont have fogs yet thats more difficult bc you have to tap off the headlights or something to use for a trigger plus take the bumper off to mount the lights, etc.

i cant run the foglights by themselves? instead of turning on the headlight with the fog.

I just said it that way bc it would be easier. You can definitely take the time to put them on a separate switch though.

low beams should take you around 1hour 30 min. Depends on what kit you get.

Fog lights , make sure to get another jack so u dont have to move yours from side to side. Pain in the ass. either then that, the hardest part is to find where to put the ballasts. Really easy process.

Just curious, what jack are you referring to?

Because most people take off the bumper and headlight assemblys out to seat the bulbs.

Corksport SRI - 35/5% tint - Sumitomo HTR Z - MTX Audio - Lamin-x headlight/foglight film - Part Plaza eyelids - 6000k DDM HID- SR*S Exhaust - Hypertech - Grounded TB - VG Sharkfin Antenna - Mazda Club Of Kansas City http://www.mazdaclubkc.com/
