Hi alxuu, you have quick hands! It only takes about 3-7 days to arrive in the US, enjoy your unit soon! And welcome to share your nice installation pics & reviews after getting the unit! :grin2:
Hi pankey, glad to tell you that the next/previous on the steering wheel is totally correct for GA6163F Mazda 3 navigation. OK I'll sign you up on the group buy, thanks! :wink2:
And MiR, the GB is for international customers, no matter where you are from, and we can definitely ship to Australia, welcome to place your GB order now! Thanks!
just installed my unit, but I have a few questions:
is it possible to map the steering wheel keys or even the buttons on the unit to different functions? I tried looking at the key study app but it doesn't seem to do anything.
is it possible to turn off the beep when the car starts?
when I switch between modes (like to radio, avin, etc), and I have google play music in the background, it ends up playing at the same time as the new mode. is there any way to have it automatically pause when I switch?
Overall, the unit works fine but I wish things were a little more seemless. Although I suppose I can't complain too much for a $300 unit...
Hi alxuu, you have quick hands! It's not possible to map the steering wheel keys or buttons to different functions. As the can bus is designed with fixed functions. Hope you understand. For the other 2 questions, I’ll check with our tech and tell you tomorrow as they don't work on Mid-Autumn day holiday today.:cheesy:Thanks!

i bought a camera (Eonon -Low Price!!! Camera, Car DVD | Car Monitors | Car GPS Navigation|) from them with my first win ce unit few years ago. it worked well but upgrading to the android unit the video looked pretty crappy. using the previous version to this one with just 1 light on each side https://www.amazon.com/Esky180-Viewing-High-Definition-Vehicle-Support/dp/B013OLWDW4/ since somebody pushed in my bumper while parking and bent the camera. i loved the stealthish look of the a0121n since the license plate was behind the camera but in front of the bracket you put the screws in but ny drivers suck and can't gauge how much space they have from their front bumper.
I'm a little late with these questions considering I've already placed a group-buy order, but here it goes:
1. Can this unit act as a Wifi Hot-spot (Car Mifi) if I plug in a 4G/LTE USB stick ?
2. What is the "best" off-line map for this unit ? HERE maps ? Google Maps ?
3. While I like the idea of linking to the ELM327 via Bluetooth, it was my understanding that Mazda3 doesn't stop powering the ODB2 port after power-off, how do you keep it connected without draining your battery ?
1. I know they sell a 3g dongle, not sure about 4g/lte but the headunit does have hot spot functionality (for screen mirroring).
2. I use google maps tethered to my cell phone to get up to date traffic and such but you could download offline areas in google maps. haven't tried many of the other alternatives.
3. I don't remember much battery drain from the bluetooth odb but I also haven't left it plugged in more than maybe 3 days straight. I'll plug mine in overnight and check the voltage in the morning (I have an app enabled remote starter that shows me the battery voltage)
info screen remains, only change is the audio screen says "Audio off". I don't have the factory navigation so can't answer that part but it may have come up in one of the other posts under this or the last thread for the previous model
just got my unit. about to install it right now even though its late as crap. one weird this is there's a screw kind of in the way where you screw on the bracket with the 4 screws. no way of the bracket sitting flush to the headunit without taking the screw out. is that normal?
after driving for 13 hours straight, all of my complaints from the last unit are addressed. BUT the color temperature of the screen is a border line deal breaker. its impossible for me to see the volume level number without squinting and putting my eyes right up against the lcd screen and everything is just darker/bluer it's highly annoying
Hi pankey, it's better for you to take a video to show this issue, you can PM us or Email to support@eonon.com. We will help you check further, thanks!
Eonan, is there a chance you guys will ever produce a version for the 03-5 and 06-08 Mazda 6? There's a lot of folks tired of their stock radios that would love something like this.
Hi ifixthings, firstly, we're Eonon:wink2: Thanks for your advice, we need to see if the 03-05 Mazda 6 units are in high demand, if so, then we may consider about making it, thanks.
so far so good! definitely a noticeable improvement in performance and responsiveness over the dual core model. haven't stopwatched the boot up time but it felt like 10-15 seconds instead of 30ish. still running stock firmware, haven't rooted/thrown on malaysk rom yet. play store doesn't seem to want to auto update to the latest build but i'll manually install the apk tomorrow. have to sleep now for work early then going for a 10 hour drive to syracuse and back so i'll really get a feel for the annoyances I experienced with the previous model and post findings.
skipped the mic. i tried it at the top of the a pillar where the roof meets the airbag which the cable was JUST long enough to make it to the back of the head unit and still be hidden but it sounded awful. i normally just use speakerphone for calls.
one thing i will say is the lcd screen is incredibly cool with an insane blue tint to the point of google maps daytime gray colors look blue and spotifys dark theme doesn't have any type of contrast. example with google maps
