Question iJDMTOY 7440 LEDs (Rear Turn Signals)

Browsed through 10 pages, and did searches but doesn't seem like anyone here has used them, but which amber LED 7440 bulbs work better/are brighter? The SuperBrightLED or iJDMTOY LEDs?


SuperBrightLED, $49.90/pair

The SuperBrightLED LEDs will probably need a load resistor to prevent the hyper flashing but I don't mind since many places now carry inline plug-n-play 7440 units. That way I don't have to cut or splice any factory wiring. The iJDMTOY LEDs seem to have that covered, so nothing extra needed. Inline plug-n-play 7440 unit:

Trying to avoid AutoLumination if possible. The brightest 7440 LEDs might be the VLED V3 Tritons, but they're $100/pair and backordered. Think I'll hold off on those unless the other ones aren't up to snuff:

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the iJDMTOY LEDs. Will let you know how it turns out.

Are you talking about the side markers, or the front turn signals?

So initially I "tested fitted" the iJDMTOY 7440 amber rear turn signals, and the good news is they seem as bright or brighter than the OEM halogen 7440 bulbs. At least at night. I'll get some pics or vids of that later and will test during the daytime. And the load equalizers/anti-hyper flash feature works, keeping the blinking/flashing at a normal rate.



The bad news is that the the load equalizers/hyper flash adapters are external, so there are wires that trail from the base of the bulb. These are not inline units. Funny thing is iJDMTOY does have inline units, but did not include that version with these LEDs. I'm not able to twist in the 7440 socket completely in the rear turn signal housing without stressing the anti-hyper flashing unit wires. My thought was to de-pin the connector to the load equalizers and thread the wire through an existing hole in the 7440 socket:







It kinda worked, as I was able to twist the socket in the housing completely after. However the wire sorta blocked the plug for the socket, as that hole also goes through the socket plug area. Tomorrow I'll drill a hole on the other side of the socket (opposite of the rectangular hole) to feed the wires through without blocking anything. Would've been a lot easier if iJDMTOY would've just included their inline unit instead:

The oem sidemarkers would need to be cut open like mine. You can just order the led sidemarkers already built on ebay or amazon. Save yourself the labor of trying to cut the plastic and replace the bulb inside.

But if i get those LED ones will they do hyper flashing like turn signal is on or no? Cause i know if no resistor is applied in case of changing turn signal bulbs to LED's they just go crazy flashing

They hyperflash because they draw less current and confuses the flasher relay to believe a bulb is damaged. You can simply sodder in load resistors to each of the turn signal led sockets. or you can buy a LED Flasher RELAY which is a plug and play relay. from superbrightleds.com , than you will be able to just put the leds in with no resistors. Either way you choose to go. your looking at about the same price. The relay itself is nice because you dont have to sodder in load resistors anywhere.

Actually i just came up with the idea to have no side marker light at all just thinking how to hide that hole there, i know there is some very hard filler which gets hard just like metal but that's just lot of work so i might just cover it with some nice mazda logo
