04-08 MZ3 Front Lower Ball Joint Boot Replacement...OEM?

Is there an OEM rubber boot available for the front lower ball joint in the 04-08 MZ3 control arm?

There is one available for 10-13 MZ3s: G03034565

Does anyone know if it is the same size or not?

I have to ask: why would you only replace the boot? If your ball joint is worn out, replace the whole thing. If the ball joint *isn't* worn out, let it ride.

The boot is cracking and is about to tear, but the ball joint itself is fine. A torn boot always leads to a worn ball joint from dirt/grit contamination. It's a question of a $10 boot vs $150 for the OEM lower control arm. I don't trust any aftermarket brands for critical suspension parts.

I think there's a good chance that'll have its own part number. Should be relatively easy to find. Have fUn getting dirty. FYI most techs would let the boot slide and just let the customer know that a control arm might be coming in the future. As far as suspension competent's I never go lowe than oem but lots of stuff is better or equal. By equal I mean the same manufacturer makes the oem and aftermarket part. Saved my girlfriend a couple hundred dollars by going denso from advance instead of denso from Honda. And usually a better warranty. Have fun, wear gloves

I do this from my phone. Do the BSD. slight vibration increase. Zoom-zoom 😎

Foolishness. A: The ball joint can be replaced independently of the control arm. B: Aftermarket suspension parts are fine and in some cases better than OE. Moog is a good example of this with their "Problem Solver" line. Stay away from their cheaper "R series" parts and you will be just fine.

I've always had great luck with Moog. Good quality for sure.

Moog only sells R-series control arms for the Mazda 3 and Rockauto only lists Mevotech and MAS for replacement ball joints. I don't know about you, but I'm not trusting these questionable parts for a lower ball joint.

OEM Mazda doesn't sell the ball joint separately.

What I would call questionable is no-name stuff from ebay. Mevotech is pretty huge in the automotive world, their parts are rebranded and sold under a number of different names including Raybestos. As with Moog I would stay away from their cheap stuff. They actually have an HD grade ball joint for your application which is a line I didn't even know they made. I don't have any experience with MAS though from the pictures their stuff looks decent. They might be the OE supplier for all I know given that their parts don't have grease fittings.
