Mazdaspeed3 Rotors and Pads on a 2.0L Mazda 3
So I'm an idiot and I accidently ordered a brake kit for a Mazdaspeed3 instead of my own car, which is a Mazda 3 2.0L.
I'm wondering now if it's possible to simply swap out the caliper brackets instead of sending the parts back(Which will likely cost as much as the kit).
It would look kinda slick too to have the larger rotors on my car.
They're nice drilled/slotted rotors and ceramic pads all around.
The kit cost me $200CAD.
From doing a bit of searching online, some people seem to think that there's either no difference or very slight differences between the Speed3 and the 3 calipers, but I would assume they mean the calipers on the 2.3L Mazda 3 and not the 2.0.
Here's the set I bought: primechoice.ca/Auto/Brakes/Discs-Rotors-Hardware/BRAKEPKG075 (Apparently I'm not allowed to post links...)
Here's the brackets I think I would need(For the rear, at least) amazon.ca/Cardone-Service-14-1678-Remanufactured-Caliper/dp/B00A1424MM/ref=au_as_r?_encoding=UTF8&Make=Mazda%7C80&Model=3 %7C2435&Year=2007%7C2007&ie=UTF8&n=6948389011&newV ehicle=1&s=automotive&vehicleId=1&vehicleType=auto motive
I guess I should add, it does sort of seem possible to just buy the 2.3L Mazda 3/Speed3 caliper mounting brackets and slap it all together. The only issue then would be the possibility of having to buy new pads due to the Speed3 pads not fitting the 2.0L calipers.
Should I just scrap the whole idea and buy the right bloody brakes? Haha
Any input is greatly appreciated. Tired of slamming doors and kicking things.
