replacing front struts

Hello!

I have a 5-Speed automatic 2011 Mazda 3 2.5l.

The front struts were leaking so I replaced them with Monroe Quickstrut Assembly:

I have noticed since replacing them (just this past saturday) that there is a creaking noise coming from under the hood when I drive. It sounds almost like standing on an old floorboard that creaks/moans when you step on it. It's not high pitched creaking at all, very deep sounding.

When doing most normal driving it's absent, only when the road is unevenly bumpy do i notice it much. Even large speed bumps don't seem to exacerbate it much as it's mostly heard after the shocks/struts compress / settle down after the bump.

What could it be?

I had a feeling it was that part, but wasn't sure what they were called. How do I adjust them? I need to replace the rotors as well so I'll be in that general area soon enough.

Take the screw out and wiggle the endlink around then screw it back on...Also you can see if its the Brake line bracket that attaches to the strut too...sometimes it needs repositioning.

It was the endlink! thanks, just reached in behind the tire and can actually feel some play on them. They felt pretty tight when I dropped the car so maybe the vibrations / settling of the car worked them loose.

how do you like the "QuickStruts"?
i had them on a previous car of mine but they never seemed to settle at all, the car still sat way too high even after a few years with them on.

Current: 2007 Mazda3 i Sport Sedan
Rides in the recent past...1997 Plymouth Neon, 1988 Mazda 323

Put them on my wife's Accord with similar results. Only about a half inch, but still noticeable. Don't care lol. Easy DIY job.

Sent from the wrong side of the tracks.

Yeah the ride is a smidgen higher in the front but it's not incredibly noticeable. I'd say i'm very happy with them. Quick and cheap compared to replacing each party individually and having to deal with the coils,
